My nth watercolour experiment. I have much more rotting in my drawers somewhere TvT
This year I'll try do get better at traditional mediums. It's been more than a year since I bought my watercolour set and so far I've done less than 5 proper pictures with it :iconfinallyplz:

Inspiration for this picture came from Jay Chou's song Qi Li Xiang. It's one of my favourite chinese songs ever :>

Copic 0.03 multliner and Aquafine watercolours on heavyweight paper. Edits on Illuststudio.
I can't wait to get my brown multiliners from China *w*

Gorgeous work! It looks digital in the thumbnail! :wow: Do you think you'd do a tutorial? I have wanted my traditional art to look this vivid and I have yet to succeed ;^;

Thank you! I'm still relatively new to watercolours so I don't think I'm good enough to do a tutorial yet...
One way to achieve brighter colours is to use colours straight from the tube instead of mixing them (e.g. using pink paint instead of mixing it from white and red). Also cheap paints tend to give duller colours than those from recognised brands. Lastly don't forget to adjust your pictures on Photoshop after scanning them ^^

Wow, what a beautiful picture. I absolutely love the flow of the drawing; I would say that music and wind were creating an aura of song around the characters. Their clothes are drawn so beautifully and nicely; the folds/wrinkles are so perfect and the dress's skirt is drawn perfectly effected by the wing. The hair is really quite nice; it looks rather natural and it fits each character so nicely. The pose of each character is done very nicely; you did a very nice job on doing them just right. The coloring job is quite amazing (I LOVE traditional so much ^-^), you did very nice on creating shading and lighting in the hair and clothes. The bench is very nice; how did you get the lines between the boards so straight and perfect O_o ? I see that you need only a little work on the background. The flowers look a little bit strange, but I like the negative coloring look of coloring around the leaves/stems in dark colors and leaving the actual leaves/stems lighter colored. Very nice job! I like this piece very much! (One more thing, those shoes and sandals are quite perfect; love them). You have a great style and you seem to have great potential for this type of coloring style. Keep working at it, okay?

Thanks for the long critique! (: I'll continue working hard!
The lines between the board were drawn with a ruler before being coloured in. I just had to be a bit more careful there ^^

I just love how peacefully I feel when I see your drawings. They are full of elements which I can pick to decide what emotion they can suggest to me. Your characters are so lovely I just can't help these feelings of warm and peace, happiness and joy or nostalgia, even. Really, if I had to think of a way to describe your art, I'd say it's full of love. This image, for me, depicts love in more than one way.
